This is me...I am KT.
Rather than maintain a blog, I've decided to do random updates to this site for our friends and family to know what's going on within the world of the Carters.
2007 was an absolute whirlwind of a year for us. Les and I worked extremely hard and advanced within our jobs. He became a Director and I finally reached Vice President status. I was the #4 sales person in the country and was awarded with an extra week of paid vacation, $4500 travel voucher, and $500 cash! Hard work pays off, for sure...that German workhorse gene in me keeps me driving forward. To cash-in on this award, we're planning a trip to Indonesia next year to see the Komodo Dragons.
All is well with our furry children, Butterscotch, Huggy and Stella. Buddy is 20 years old now and still living a good life. Huggy is 11 and is starting to slow down. She can't run any longer than 3 miles with me now, so we take little walks together instead. Stella is still a terrorist and keeps us all on edge, but is also getting a *tiny bit* more affectionate. Les promised me that when we buy a house, I can have as many cats as I want and I plan on rescuing a ton of kittens because one is bound to love us!
For the past 2.5 years, we've been saving all of our pennies to buy a house. We've become quite boring because of this, but it's all going to be worth it. This is the year for us to make the jump into home ownership. We already know what we want and it's just a matter of time before it comes across the MLS.
I'm not doing triathlon anymore - I never fully embraced the swimming. I have turned my attention back to they gym, road races, and bike tours. This is all I have time for anyway, so it's absolutely fine. I'm sure I'll find some other crazy adventure race to join when I have time, but for now, normal daily exercise is suiting me just fine.
We have met several new friends over the past year and have hosted some really great parties. We have a fabulous circle of friends that we absolutely adore and enjoy spending time with. People that live in San Jose are definitely our kind of peeps. Laid back, no stress, we all work hard so we can play hard, and it's just easy to get along with everybody around here. It must be all of the sunshine and deep house music. This place is wonderful:)
