BARBECUE SAUCE FOR PORK SPARE RIBS Printed from COOKS.COM 1/4 c. vegetable oil 1/2 c. chopped onion 1 c. tomato sauce 1/2 c. water 1/4 c. white vinegar 2 tbsp. soy sauce 1/2 tsp. hot sauce 2 tbsp. orange marmalade 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. black pepper 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper 1/8 tsp. paprika 1/8 tsp. ground ginger 1/8 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. brown sugar Saute onions in oil. Mix remaining ingredients (except sugar) and add to onions. Simmer uncovered for 15 minutes. Add sugar at the end of the cooking. Yield about 1 1/2 cups. Orange marmalade is the secret to this recipe; while it goes best with pork, it can be used with chicken too.
